“Ben Harper for the cover of Guitar Player magazine, 1999. This was shot in the Inland Empire, near Claremont, California. Ben’s grandfather had owned a music store there that was also a museum—it’s a famous place. I wanted a cool image that would work for a cover, something simple and beautiful. He’s holding his Weissenborn slide guitars. Right after that shoot I approached Ben about doing a documentary.”
