Duration: Not sure exactly, but I started getting steady assignments about four years ago.

Staff: Just me and sometimes an assistant, but I mostly shoot alone with little to no production. It’s often me, a camera, my subject, and hopefully the sun too.

Education: Boston University, Photojournalism, 2004.

Cultural Influences: Despite loving technology, I have an affinity for old classics; the majestic typewriter, old signage, wood furniture, shelves of knickknacks. I want my work to have a timeless and visceral aesthetic. I have a great respect for creative people who are able to eschew a 9-to-5 and live against the grain. I believe that there's nothing worse in life than monotony. That's why I try to travel and adventure and explore and shoot as often as possible.

Environment: I live and work out of the parlor floor of a beautiful brownstone in historic Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Amazing iced coffee and a myriad of fantastic restaurants are merely a few tree-lined steps away. When I get tired of being in front of the computer, and when I'm not shooting, I love to take epic bike rides all around Brooklyn, and to explore places like the forgotten waterfronts of Dead Horse Bay (where I collect ancient bottles) and the Gowanus Canal (where my friends row homemade plywood boats). Group moped rides and upstate explorations keep me inspired and motivated.

Philosophy: Stay caffeinated, work a lot, go on an adventure, then come back inspired to work some more.
