"Sideshow Series. While traveling in the Deep South working on a personal project about people and places of romantic wanderings, I was able to make friends with some traveling circus people. I wanted to photograph the last traveling sideshow in America. My goal was to celebrate these and other people who have made this country so great."His name is Manuel Malera, a.k.a. 'Cha-Cha the Clown.' He told me that his whole life he always wanted to be a clown in a circus; he came to America from Venezuela and joined the circus. This is his passion and he can think of no other life he could enjoy other than this one.There is a old Irish prayer and a part of it says 'take time to laugh, it's the music of the soul.' For me it's not about getting and taking pictures, but of recieving something much more fulfilling. Right on Cha-Cha, life is truly grand for you and me!"
