In the spring of 2009, Krankies, a very popular coffee shop in Winston-Salem, North Carolina opened Single Brothers, serving handcrafted libations. The owners were interested in a striking logo and business/membership cards to get them started in the new venture. Local art director Shane Cranford designed a logo that’s a reference to the classic beer tap handle and business cards with a letterpress-like type setting that looks vintage while being handled in a fresh way. To reduce costs the cards were letterpressed one color on French black Muscletone and laminated for thickness. The identity series was completed with a set of postcards that were silk-screened, one color with a gloss varnish on white Muscletone.
