Duration: My sister gave me a camera when I was a teenager and I was hooked. After much study and practice, I've been earning a living making pictures for over three years. I haven’t stopped studying, and I don’t intend to stop practicing.

Staff: Freelance producers, scouts, stylists and assistants who I not only work with, but am happy to call my friends.

Education: I studied liberal arts at Penn State before receiving a BFA from RIT. After college I moved to San Francisco and assisted Erik Almås for a couple of years.

Cultural Influences: So many storytellers... Tim Winton, Jay McInerney, Jim Lynch and Robert Sullivan. Great artists like Hopper, Gerhard Richter, Bonnard, Robert Frank, Crewdson, Roger Deakins. Music that sticks in your head, takes you somewhere else and becomes a narrative that you complete. Travel, new places, people and customs. Food and cooking, it’s an art form that touches all senses; it brings people together and gives us pause to reflect. And isn’t photography all about reflection?

Environment: I share a home office in sunny Potrero Hill with a nine-year old spaniel, but I go where the pictures need to be made. I work, live and create in the world around me, places that become part of the story, not just the background. I’m happy to live where the diversity of the population mirrors the variety of the landscape. This truly is a wonderful place to live, you should come see it.

Philosophy: Everybody has a story.
