"Yes Means Yes was created for the Cal Alumni Association’s magazine, CALIFORNIA. The story discusses the new affirmative consent act in California and how it applies to sexual assault cases on college campuses. The picture needed to show that only a verbal ‘yes’ meant an affirmation of consent for sexual activity. I got the idea of a green light from another illustration I was working on at the time, and it worked well both as her dress pattern and as a keychain to physically hand over to her suitor.” 11 × 14, acrylic on paper.
