You Better Not Cry by Augusten Burroughs is a collection of stories about the holiday we love to hate and hate to love. It needed contradiction, so I chose to have jolly old St. Nick himself engaged in something unexpected and mildly offensive. I surrounded him with a regal golden glow and continued the theme by combining cheery script and unemotional sans serif type. The author himself described it as being simultaneously 'vile and mainstream,' which is just what I was after.
