"I approach each feature design in DestinAsian as a series of paneled storyboards that simply hold various sizes of photographs. I generally line all the spreads in a neat horizontal row on the floor of my studio and look at the entire story from this linear perspective. In this issue, in particular, I decided to not worry about where the spreads started and ended, emphasizing this linear flow by making the large scale heads run right off the page and over to the next spread-and in some instances with the right-hand page's full-bleed photograph following along with it."
