Blast Counterblast, edited by Anthony Elms and Steve Reinke, was published to coincide with the centenary of the birth of media philosopher Marshall McLuhan. The book examines the way intellectuals interact through influence, argumentation and criticism. Looking at both Wyndham Lewis's modernist magazine Blast and McLuhan's 1969 response to it, Counterblast, the essays in this volume develop and push the ideas presented in both publications, while the book design pays homage to the typographic experiments of both thinkers. 192 pages, 5 1/4 x 8 1/4, black plus 3 fluorescent colors, perfect-bound.
